dunelm PARTNERSHIP

In 2021, Dunelm launched our partnership aiming to raise £1million for Mind, SAMH and Inspire through empowering and engaging Dunelm colleagues, customers and communities.

Our goal was to raise awareness of the partnership and mental health, to support fundraising and ensure Dunelm colleagues, customers and communities know where they can access information and support. But we also wanted to create positive and lasting change through sustainability & volunteering initiatives.

At the time we concluded our partnership in 2023, the partnership had:

  • raised £1.8 million across the nations.
  • raised £488k through hot drinks, and £60k raised through seasonal foods including Christmas toasties.
  • raised valuable awareness of our charity through pin badge appeals and wristbands.
  • sponsored our flagship event, the Inspire Colour Run.

None of this would have been possible without the dedication and support of Dunelm colleagues and customers. Thank you for supporting Northern Ireland’s mental health.

Making a house a home…

Dunelm have donated an incredible £47k+ worth of product donations to our local mental health services across the nations.

This includes:

  • Transition 6 residents into their own homes fully furnished with their own choices after being institutionalised for many years
  • Provide support for a victim of domestic abuse to decorate her new home and start her new life feeling empowered
  • Improve our outdoor service spaces giving residents the chance to enjoy the fresh air and green space
  • Support our residents to improve their homes and spaces to truly feel at home

Testimonial

Dunelm provided further impact for our service in Bangor-
House 10 in Bangor is a newly refurbished bespoke supported community dwelling which provides support to 6 people who have recently been discharged following long term PICU admissions.

These individuals had a single bed in a ward, a blue curtain around their bed, they were given food 3 times a day according to what was being made that day, they were not able to see friends or family when they wanted to and had no management of their own routines or finances.

After 6 months of living independently in Inspire we are seeing a massive change. The service and team have supported these individuals to join clubs and become part of the local community; giving them the support to reach out and spend time with family and friends whenever they want to. Getting to make their friends a cup of tea, themselves, in their own living space.

One individual has been supported to start further education in Bangor SERC. They have gone on multiple shopping trips and managed their own finances while out.

With the support of Dunelm instead of a blue curtain around their bed, they are now picking their own curtains for their own bedroom. Inspire House 10 has given someone a home. Thank you Dunelm.
