New rhythms wellbeing drumming
Studies show that gentle group drumming can significantly improve your mental health.
Not only is it relaxing and fun, it can also help reduce depression and anxiety and boost your social resilience and overall wellbeing.
Our free six-week wellbeing programme supports and encourages adults to be creative, gain confidence and connect with others through drumming.
About the Project:
-
Free six-week hand drumming workshops delivered in partnership with community drummer Aidan Dunphy and an Inspire wellbeing facilitator.
-
The programme aims to support and encourage adults in rural communities who may feel isolated or disconnected from their local community.
-
It aims to use hand drumming to explore personal creativity, improve mental health, gain confidence and connect with others.
-
Each week, the group will also follow the Take 5 Steps to Wellbeing to learn creative and practical ways to help their mental health and wellbeing.
-
Suitable for anyone over the age of 18 years. Venues are accessible and the hand drumming sessions will be seated using djembe drums.

“The drumming has brought people together and has brought so much positivity, we need more of that in rural towns for sure”.
