What can you do with these waste items instead?
- Oils & Fats can be saved and rolled into bird seed mix to make fat balls
- Food Waste should be put into your brown food recycling bin.
- Some items can be put onto a compost heap – fruit and vegetable scraps, coffee grounds and teabags, crushed eggshells, nut shells, grains and bread. Meat and dairy foods are not suitable for compost.
- Try non-harmful eco-friendly cleaning products instead of bleach. Some items in your cupboard can also be an alternative cleaning product – white vinegar, lemon juice, and baking soda.
- Check with your local recycling centre for details on paint or chemical disposal.
