ABI’S BUTTERFLY BREEZE
Now in its third year we are delighted to Launch Abi’s Butterfly Breeze 2022. This year will also see our FIRST in person element of the event.
Abi’s Butterfly Breeze is a challenge event to walk/run the distance between 2 butterfly centres in Ireland, in recognition of Abi’s love of Butterflies. This year Abi’s family would also love everyone to join them on Friday 9th September at 6.30pm for a 10k event in Portaferry which will start and end at Portaferry GAC. Parking is available locally to the GAC.
Since losing Abi in 2018 her family were determined to raise awareness and encourage others to seek support in Abi’s memory and so launched the first Abi’s Butterfly Breeze in 2020. The event continues to go from strength to strength with an in person event being introduced this year for the first time.
This year the event takes place from the 5th to 11th September 2022 and once again asks participants to aim to cover the 103 miles, representing the distance from Seaforde Tropical Butterfly House in Newcastle to Tropical World at Alcorns in Letterkenny. You can take part individually or as part of a team to complete the distance and it can even be completed over the course of the week. Your challenge, your way!
We are asking all participants who sign up to commit to a minimum fundraising target of £30 for the event in order to support the Bright Futures project which was set up in Abi’s memory and the event continues to fund.
Bright Futures is an Inspire led independent and confidential professional counselling service which supports young people aged 14-24 and their families who are referred through their GP practice.
