Cycle around the globe challenge
The Cycle around the globe challenge is an annual event which is run every September to coincide with World Suicide Prevention Day. The initiative attempts to raise awareness of the risks of suicide and fund essential resources for suicide prevention activities. There is no obligation on anyone to fundraise or collect money but this initiative is a great way of improving physical wellbeing and drawing attention to a worthy cause. More information on the initiative:
Cycle around the Globe
The Aim: To bring people together to cycle further than last year and to raise awareness of the risks of suicide.
When: The initiative takes place between 2nd – 17th September 2017 (although cycling is advised on an ongoing basis!)
Where: You can take part anywhere; the gym, on local roads, as part of a club or race day or even when on holidays.
Registration: To register your miles just click Cycle around the globe challenge. There is no cost to anyone (fundraising is optional) and you don’t need to be a professional cyclist to take part.
September is traditionally a time to get back on your bike so why not take the opportunity to support this worthy cause. I hope those taking part in the challenge enjoy the benefits and tie the event into their Green Tracker. World Suicide Prevention Day is on 10th September.
