Inspires Volunteer Advocates receive The Queens Award for Voluntary Service 2018 for the work they do in the community.

Volunteer Advocates receive The Queens Award for Voluntary Service

The Queens Award for Voluntary Service was created by The Queen in 2002 to celebrate the anniversary of the Queen's coronation.  It is the MBE for volunteers.  This award recognises the excellence in voluntary activities that the group carries out in their communities.

Be Inspired

Inspire mental health, provides personalised, recovery focused, community-based support for people who have had experience of mental ill-health.

Advocacy is an independent service designed to listen carefully to the options, concerns, problems or issues that people may be experiencing whilst using mental health services and to give people a voice.

Inspired to volunteer

Volunteers bring immeasurable value to all areas of Inspires work to support people living with experience of mental ill-health.

The QAVS for Inspire Advocacy Services

“The Queens Award for Voluntary Service is recognition of all the inspire volunteers efforts to manage their own diagnoses and advocate for patients in hospital and the community. Inspire helps us to use our own lived experience in a positive way to help service users who are now in the circumstances that we used to be. As inspire volunteer advocates we are all delighted to be so honoured.”Miss. Susan Williamson, Advocacy Volunteer

"The entire team at Inspire is delighted that our volunteers have been awarded the QAVS. We have always been especially proud of the highly specialised and unique service provided by our volunteer advocates and it is wonderful to have that acknowledged with such a prestigious award."   Prof Peter McBride, CEO Inspire.
