Grant Thornton show their support for local wellbeing services.

The Grant Thornton volunteers enthusiastically pulled on their Inspire t-shirts and set off to visit local schemes across the province, taking part in a range of activities on the day, from gardening and painting to chatting with service users.

In addition to volunteering for the day, Grant Thornton have been an ongoing supporter of leading local wellbeing charity Inspire. The team have been fundraising in aid of the charity and have also been working to raise awareness of mental health and to challenge the stigma that so often surrounds it. Earlier this year Grant Thornton became an ‘Inspiration Point’ to help promote mental wellbeing to their staff and clients. By pledging to be an ‘Inspiration Point’ the office has a ready supply of information relating to a range of wellbeing themes that staff and clients can access with ease.

Speaking about their volunteer day with Inspire Neal Taylor, a Partner from Grant Thornton commented: ‘We have been delighted to be involved with Inspire and truly value the work they do across our community. We were happy to help out at the local schemes and see first-hand the important role they play.’

Lisa McElherron, Head of Policy and Engagement with Inspire added: ‘We are so grateful to the Grant Thornton team for their ongoing support. As well as working to raise valuable funds for the work of Inspire, they have engaged with us in a number of ways to help raise awareness of mental health and to promote wellbeing amongst their staff. It was fantastic to have the staff team engage directly with our service users as they volunteered for the day within our local schemes. The time they gave and hard work they carried out was truly appreciated by all of us at Inspire.’
