Millburn Close is a 24 Hour Support Housing Scheme close to Carryduff on the outskirts of South Belfast.
Millburn Close is a Inspire Wellbeing Housing scheme in partnership with Habinteg Housing and support from Belfast Health & Social Care Trust. Staff from Inspire provide 24 hour support for Service Users within their own homes. Millburn Close currently accommodates 20 Service Users between the age of 18 and over. The scheme opened in 2009 and has given the opportunity to support the wellbeing and recovery of Service Users on their resettlement journey from long stays in hospital or more intensive support facilities.
This model of support provides an opportunity for Service Users to avail of a range of activities within the scheme and local community such as gardening groups, art groups and health & wellbeing groups including cycling walking and local leisure facilities.
Our staff team provide through individual support plans in areas of:
• Daily living skills and home management and budgeting.
• Support in maintaining positive wellbeing and medication management.
• Opportunities to regain meaningful lives and hope for the future. We work closely with a range of partners and stakeholders from both Belfast Trust and the South Eastern Trust to ensure that support provision is based around the Service User’s aspirations and goals. We also ensure that all aspects of mental and physical wellbeing are supported within local community facilities such as wellbeing clinics.
Millburn Close does not operate an open referral system. Referrals come through Care Management in conjunction with associated Mental Health Teams.
Volunteers bring immeasurable value to all areas of Inspire’s work to support people living with experience of mental ill-health. Find out more about how you get involved with our work....
