Inspire - Mental Health, at Woodlands in Cookstown, is a modern innovative Community Wellbeing Service.

Woodlands believe that mental wellbeing is accessible to all.

Through our services we promote the development of Hope which creates the Opportunity to regain Control in your life.  This aspiration can become a reality by equipping you to achieve your full potential and re-establish a positive identity.

We recognize that recovery means different things to different people and at times you may require additional support to reach your goals.  The courses we provide will support you in understanding your illness, developing your knowledge and skills and rebuilding your life.

We provide stimulating social activities that promote positive mental health and wellbeing through a strengths based approach.

Services are provided in Woodlands and in local community facilities, they are provided to groups and one to one if needed, for example: ‘Time for You’ is a one to one service provided from Woodlands for those who find it difficult to engage in services following a period of mental ill health.

Service User Involvement/Activities

Woodlands work with a variety of community organisations to deliver a comprehensive range of programs and activities to assist members in their recovery journey, these include:

•    Traditional art/craft classes
•    Computer skills
•    Creativity & Mindfulness
•    Learning for Life
•    WRAP (Wellness Recovery Action Planning)
•    Therapeutic Horticulture.

Woodlands members and staff have been involved in a number of community events with other agencies this year.  An art exhibition open to the public, was provided by members of Woodlands in the Burnavon, and a number of members sold pieces of work.

Woodlands members and staff took the lead in organizing the annual Cookstown Walk of Hope, a multi-agency community event to remember people who are affected by suicide or who are struggling with suicide at Christmas time.

Throughout the year there are a number of day trips planned and organised by members and staff to museums, shopping and sightseeing tours.
