Clarendon Street Testimonial

I have worked for Niamh since 2004 managing the Community Wellbeing Service in Derry/Londonderry. During that time I have really enjoyed my role, in particular working in partnership alongside people to who use our service, empowering them to co-produce and co-facilitate groups and courses.  Also assisting people to develop skills in volunteering and seeing people grow and flourish with the support and guidance of staff.  While working from Inspire, I have studied part-time to develop specialisms and gain further qualifications which in turn enhance the range of opportunities that we provide within the Community Wellbeing Service. (Alison Foley, Manager)

I have a diagnosis of borderline personality disorder and anxiety, I come to the Service to attend the DBT skills group which helps me learn more about regulating my emotions. Staff have advised and supported me to put my "best foot forward" in every situation and it is the best advise I have ever been given, as it gets me more from life and  better outcomes. I also struggle with social anxiety which is little understood, but coming to the Service and taking part in the walking group helps me to interact with others without feeling any of the pressure of social interaction. I would recommend the Service to other people who need support with their mental health. (Service User)
