I have been a support worker with Inspire Wellbeing, Castlecroft since January 2017. I graduated in June 2017 from Queens University, Belfast with a BSc degree in Psychology. I have always been interested in attaining a career within mental health and it was the knowledge I gained from my three years at University which allowed me to pursue this further. I really enjoy every aspect to Castlecroft especially being able to facilitate some classes and watch the members avail and grow from these; it is very rewarding. I have also recently became a volunteer for the BKN upcycling centre which I think is a tremendous accomplishment to all those involved. Since my time in Castlecroft has begun I have been given an array of opportunities to attend many valuable trainings, including a two-day WRAP course that I now facilitate to members one day a week. Being involved in such a tightknit, caring community makes my job as a support worker very satisfying. I love to see the members communicate with staff and other members in a comfortable and confident way, I see that as an achievement.
