Inspire – New Directions Day Service Sligo, provides bespoke day service provisions to adults with Intellectual Disabilities and those with a diagnosed Autistic Spectrum Disorder.
‘New Directions’ was a document published by the HSE in 2012. This report sets out, in essence, a very clear directive to how adult day services should be shaped, what they stand for in our communities, and what we, as service providers, must do; our practice is guided by a very clear set of Interim Standards.
As a service, we are committed to ensuring that such standards, set out in this policy document are exercised at every level; through Individualised and Effective services and supports, Safe Services and Supports, Quality Assured and Properly Managed Services, an Accessible and Responsive Workforce and the effective use of All Resources and Information.
Our dedicated team of support staff, work in partnership with individuals (and their families/carers), to ascertain their thoughts, preferences, goals and future aspirations. We are committed to ensuring a high quality and community integrated service that places individuals at the centre; supporting them to exercise choice and autonomy in the decisions they make, at every level. Close partnership working with additional stakeholders, such as the HSE and other service providers is critical in achieving these necessary and desired outcomes.
Inspire - New Directions, is a social and dynamic space providing a diverse arrangement of day-to-day activities and community based programmes, strongly seeking to promote educational development and enhance social learning experiences, for all individuals who attend. At the heart of our New Directions Day Service is Social Inclusion for all – Inspire’s Vision, Wellbeing For All.
