Drogheda Home Support

Inspires Drogheda Home Support provides support to 4 tenants.

This service provides support within their home to 4 tenants who have disabilities, including autism, intellectual and physical disabilities. The tenants live in their own privately rented accommodation. Support is available to the tenants to live independently in their own homes in Drogheda town. Support is made available to the tenants when required based on their needs. The tenants need support to complete daily tasks to maintain their home, to become active members of their community and to build relationships in their new community.

Activities within our service is based mostly on daily home activities such as -

- cooking

- cleaning

- personal care

- home maintenance

We also support them with their daily travel to day services or to any services they require and support them to take part in social activities such as special olympics and arch club. Some weekends we go to the cinema, bowling, day trips, swimming, shopping, golf and for walks. Activities are based on service user needs and preferences.

This model of support is new to the Republic of Ireland and it has been very successful. It provides the opportunity for people with disabilities to have their own home and to enjoy their lives as independent as possible. This model of support allows the tenants to make their own choices about their lives with support when and if required.
