Throughout Inspire, we have many opportunities for you to utilise your talents, skills or experience, adding value to the delivery of our services and helping us raise public awareness. Here are some of the roles we have to offer you.
Support – You will support staff and engage with service users to encourage them in taking on new challenges that will allow them to reach their full potential. You will motivate and encourage service users to participate in scheme activities.
Facilitator – You will facilitate and deliver group sessions in a range of activities (such as arts & crafts), plan events and outings, and support staff and other volunteers in the delivery of care and support to service users.
Holistic Therapist – You will provide a range of holistic therapies to service users for relaxation purposes and promote wellbeing. Volunteers need to hold recognised qualifications and certificates relating to the therapies being offered.
Befriender – You will provide one-to-one befriending and be matched with a resident/service user. You will offer individual support on a regular basis. This could be a simple as having a chat over a cup of tea, helping with shopping, visiting the library, going for a walk or supporting other social activities.
Polish Interpreter – You will provide support and assistance to Polish-speaking service users and the families. At present, this opportunity is for the Co. Sligo region only.
Gardening – Volunteers with a love of gardening will work alongside service users, helping them to grow flowers, fruit and vegetables, and assisting with general gardening tasks e.g. maintaining beds and borders. Some services would welcome help with polytunnels, too.
Administration – You will provide administrative support in a busy office environment.
