Find out more about your journey in becoming a volunteer with Inspire.
The first stage is to complete an online Expression of Interest form available on the Inspire website. Alternatively, a paper copy can be posted out to you and returned to the Volunteer Co-ordinator.
What happens next?
Upon receipt of the form, the Volunteer Co-ordinator will review it and seek out suitable opportunities in the local area. If you wish to proceed with your application, an ‘informal’ interview will be set up with the Volunteer Co-ordinator and/or scheme manager; this is usually face-face but can be carried out over the telephone.
If after this ‘interview’ you wish to proceed with your application, you will be asked to complete an Enhanced Access NI application (police check) and a request for two references will be made.
*Not all roles require volunteers to complete an Enhanced Access NI application*
Once a suitable role within your chosen scheme has been agreed and all your checks are returned and satisfactory the Volunteer Coordinator will contact you to arrange a suitable date and time for an introductory meeting with the scheme manager.
Starting as a volunteer with Inspire
Your supervisor will arrange an induction with you and you have a 3 month ‘settling-in’ period which will give you the opportunity to find out if volunteering with Inspire is for you.
Training is also provided and is ongoing throughout your time as a volunteer with Inspire.
