Aspen, Community Wellbeing Service, Finaghy:

We are looking for a gardener to share a passion and flair for gardening with members, helping them maintain beds and borders, and grow a range of fruit and vegetables in an extensive back garden.

The gardening group would welcome anyone with experience of a range of tasks, including container gardening, growing herbs, knowing what to plant and when, and maintaining a wildlife garden.

Jean Todd Close, Antrim:

We are looking for a gardener to share a passion and flair for gardening with members, helping them maintain beds and borders, and utilise a large polytunnel for the growing of fruit, vegetables and flowers.

Inspire has two community wellbeing services in Mid-Ulster that are looking for volunteers:

Woodlands, Cookstown: 

We are seeking support volunteers to assist with a breakfast group on Thursday mornings and to help run a games/hobbies group on Friday mornings. 

There are also opportunities for volunteers with skills and an interest in crafts, exercise and recovery-based activities.

Market Street, Magherafelt

We are seeking a volunteer to assist with a walking group on Monday afternoons and/or Friday mornings.

We are also seeking a support volunteer to help run a social group on Tuesday afternoons.

There are also opportunities for volunteers with skills and an interest in crafts, exercise and recovery-based activities.

The Junction, Dungannon:

We are looking for a volunteer to offer administrative support in a busy office environment.

This role would suit someone who is organised, enjoys interacting with others and has good communication skills and an interest in mental health.

Previous experience is preferred, though not essential. However, a good knowledge of Microsoft Office would be beneficial.

Glens Floating Support - Befrienders – Carnlough & Cushendun:

We are looking befrienders to support and build valued relationships with service users experiencing mental health problems. The aim is to increase the individuals’ confidence, independence and self-esteem.

Once you have been matched with a service user, you will be offered individual support on a regular basis. This could be as simple as having a chat over a cup of tea, going out to the shops or library or helping with other social activities.

If you have good communication skills and can offer a clear time commitment, as well as demonstrating empathy, then we would love to hear from you. Access to a car would be beneficial.

Rossmore Housing Support and Greenvale Residential Home - Befrienders and Facilitators - south Belfast:

We have befriending opportunities that will see you matched with a resident and offered individual support on a regular basis.

This could be as simple as having a chat over a cup of tea, going out to the shops or library or helping with other social activities.

As a volunteer you will be increasing the confidence and self-esteem of the resident whilst alleviating their feeling of loneliness.

There are also roles for anyone wishing to facilitate group activities (e.g. arts & crafts) and outings.

Please note: Greenvale is only able to consider female volunteers.

Gardener - Millburn Close, south Belfast:

Share your passion and flair for gardening with residents at Inspire’s mental health housing scheme, near Knockbracken Healthcare Park in Belfast.

You will help residents maintain beds, borders and various green space areas, including raised beds. The residents look after a number of chickens too; so any relevant experience would be useful, though not essential.

Gardener - Hope House, west Belfast:

We have a number of gardening opportunities based out of Hope House community wellbeing service in Belfast.

We would welcome a volunteer to develop a gardening group to maintain the garden at Hope House itself, while also working on an allotment at Colin Glen Community Garden. If you have a passion for horticulture and skills, along with experience that you can share with our service users, we would love to hear from you.

In addition, we are looking for a volunteer to maintain a service users garden in Lisburn. This would involve basic gardening tasks, such as grass cutting.
