Aspen, Community Wellbeing Service, Finaghy:

We are looking for a gardener to share your passion and flair for gardening with members  and help them maintain beds & borders and grow a range of fruit & vegetables in an extensive back garden.

The gardening group would welcome anyone with  experience of a range of tasks including container gardening; growing herbs; knowing what to plant & when and maintaining a wildlife garden.

We are looking for a gardener to share your passion and flair for gardening with residents and help them maintain beds and borders and utilise a large polytunnel for the growing of fruit, vegetables and flowers.

Inspire has two Community Wellbeing Services in Mid-Ulster that are looking for volunteers:

Woodlands, Cookstown: 

Support volunteers on a Thursday morning to assist with a breakfast group and Friday mornings to help run a games/hobbies group.

There are also opportunities for anyone with skills and an interest in crafts, exercise and recovery-based activities.

Volunteer to assist with a walking group on a Monday afternoon and/or a Friday morning.

The Junction, Dungannon:

We are looking for a volunteer to offer administrative support in a busy office environment.

This role would suit someone who is organised, enjoys interacting with others, has good communication skills and an interest in mental health.

Previous experience is preferred but not essential but a good knowledge of Microsoft Office would be beneficial.

Glens Floating Support - Befrienders – Carnlough & Cushendun

We are looking befrienders to offer support to service users experiencing mental health problems and build a valued relationship; with the aim of increasing the individuals’ confidence, independence and self-esteem.

Once you have been matched with a service user, you will offer individual support on a regular basis. This could be a cup of tea and a chat or going out to the shops, going to the library or other social activities 

If you can offer a clear time commitment, show empathy and have good communication skills, then we would love to hear from you. Access to a car would be beneficial.

Rossmore Housing Support and Greenvale Residential Home - Befrienders and Facilitators - South Belfast

We have befriending opportunities where you will be matched with a resident and offer individual support on a regular basis.

This could be a simple as a chat and a cup of tea or taking the resident out to do shopping; visiting the library; going for a walk or other social activities.

As a volunteer you will be increasing the confidence and self-esteem of the resident whilst alleviating their feeling of loneliness.

There are also roles for anyone wishing to facilitate group activities (e.g. arts & crafts) and outings.

Please note: Greenvale is only able to consider female volunteers.

Gardener - Millburn Close, South Belfast.

Share your passion and flair for gardening with residents at Inspire’s  Mental Health Housing Scheme near Knockbracken Healthcare Park in Belfast.

You will help residents maintain beds & borders and various green space areas including raised beds. The residents look after a number of chickens too; so any experience with chickens would be useful but not essential.

Gardener - Hope House, West Belfast.

We have a number of gardening opportunities based from Hope House, Community Wellbeing Service in  Belfast.

Hope House would welcome  a volunteer to develop a gardening group that would maintain the garden at Hope House itself and work on an allotment at Colin Glen Community Garden. If you have a passion for horticulture and skills and experience you can share with our service users we would love to hear from you.

In addition, we are looking for a volunteer to maintain a service users garden out in Lisburn; this would be basic gardening tasks such as grass cutting.
